   Mark thinks it is a scale, but that it’s missing two pieces that hang off the top. He says heavy scales have handles in the middle so you can pick them up.

   I thought of that and he’s probably right but the weighing cups would be out of proportion to the piece- because if they were in proportion they’d hit the center? I bet it is a scale and just a type I haven’t seen.
